5. I wouldn't make too much of this yet.

I'm sure Matthews is just hearing second-hand speculation, not something that came from the actual "candidates."

If Trump is still in office in 2020, he'll be the most endangered incumbent President in years - and probably ever. Democrats will be chomping at the bit to run against him. And if he's replaced, the situation for the GOP won't be much better.

All that being said, Schiff seems like he'd be fantastic.
