We took Bagdad with three divisions - that is a military feat no other army in the world can do. The US military is an incredibly lethal force precisely because of its use of high tech weapons used by highly trained volunteers instead of semi-trained conscripts.

as someone who hated the draft when it happened to me, I reluctantly say........everyone should be required to do mandatory service regardless of gender or money, as in Israel. But that will never happen here (see Trump).

I was drafted into the Marines but already had a career started and joined the Army for an additional year to nip that shit in the bud. A Marine needs to WANT to be a Marine for whatever reasons, LOL.
