Besides selling "Apocalypse Chow" - Bakker has another project.

In a conversation with pro-Trump prophet Frank Amedia this week, televangelist Jim Bakker proposed that all the church people band together to launch a class action suit against them, whoever they are who are literally stripping the power from the president of the United States.
We were headed to having a president, a leader, who had no power, Bakker marveled. They were literally stripping the power from the president of the United States. If we would have had an army attack us, they want to take his power away.
He then proposed a class action suit against them, whoever they are, whoevers taking the power from America because theyre destroying the United States of America.
Theyve unelected a president, Bakker said. Its wrong! It should be a great crime.
Later in the program, Amedia shared prophecies that he has been receiving through his POTUS Shield project, including that God has planned three shifts in the Supreme Court during the Trump administration, including the confirmation of Justice Neil Gorsuch, an upcoming retirement, and lastly Justice Sonia Sotomayor allowing God to transform and move in her life.
He added that while the Supreme Court is on recess its important to pray that the justices have encounters and visitations from God.
I believe God will move right into their bedrooms, right into their children, the children will speak, their aides will speak and things will happen in their lives, he said.

Did he not notice that a president wasn't even able to get a hearing for his SC nominee?

He seems to have been in the news lately. My hunch is he's no longer on parole.

(82,849 posts)I thought he-man Christians settled things without going to court? But now you want a class action of unspecified plaintiffs to sue unspecified defendants for a great crime? Sounds like you don't quite understand the court system, Jim. I seem to recall something pretty severe said in the Bible about people who bear false witness, and some hard things said about people who use their position to deceive others, and some really hard things about "leaders" who deceive God's little ones.
Better check yourself before you wreck yourself, Jimbo.

Serious question: Who are the dumbasses left who would actually give this man money? I mean, seriously.

(5,810 posts)But apparently fear is selling nicely in his latest scam....er....operation. His "stock up on dehydrated beef stroganoff" division seems to be thriving hawking buckets of prepper foods. I never stuck around long enough to determine exactly what version of fear he was peddling but the contents of the bucket are said to be good for 25 years. Oh, yummy!

(15,220 posts)Oh, man - that's gotta be good for a laugh or two!!!
I realize that there are people who actually fall for this kind of baloney, and it's really sad that there are people out there so lonely, so depressed, so afraid, so stupid, as to actually send money to these scam artists.
That said, it simply amazes me that ANYONE would part with hard earned money for a guy who has been put in prison for being a fraud.

Earlier in the day, Robert E. Harvey Jr. and Frank Amedia told the jury how they took part in a scheme to fix an odometer rollback case in 1994 for $200,000.
Harvey and Phillip Courtney once owned Courtney-Harvey Ford Mercury in Canfield. They lost the dealership after being convicted in the odometer rollback scheme.
Harvey's close friend, Amedia, served as chief executive officer of Forte Industries, a window manufacturing company on Albert Street in Youngstown. He retired to Miami in May 2000. (12,448 posts)When filing a lawsuit, class action or not, you really do need to have persons or entities you're suing. Not to mention you need a more defined group of suers than "church people." Bakker once again proves he's a moron.
Lawyers on DU correct me if I'm wrong, but that seems to be just common sense.
