The...Center uses supercomputers to model climate change and map its effects on regions all over the world, all stuff President Trump wouldnt understand, so perhaps it is better his wife and child go instead. The center is right near the building where the G20 summit is taking place, and has been operating since 1987...
Trump said he wanted to renegotiate the Paris climate agreement, on terms that are fair to the United States. But Merkel responded by saying, We...firmly believe that the Paris agreement cannot be renegotiated, since it is a vital instrument for our planet, societies and economies in a joint statement with the leaders of France and Italy...
Sauer wants them all to...essentially get a lesson on how Germany helps lead the world in climate change research. This was a highly clever way for Merkel to attack Trump on climate change, because if Ivanka and Melania refused to take the tour, it would be quite diplomatically rude...

Melania Trump was unable to attend a tour of a German climate research center during the Group of 20 summit when protests prevented the U.S. first lady from leaving her residence in Hamburg.
Chancellor Angela Merkels husband Joachim Sauer, a professor of physical and theoretical chemistry, had planned to host other G-20 leaders spouses for a tour of the German Climate Computing Center on Friday. The plan fell apart when demonstrators disrupted the start of the summit and the German G-20 hosts said the visit was canceled.

I mean, who would sit in Der Gropenfuhrer's chair if he had to leave for another meeting, or to relieve himself? At 71 years old Der Gropenfuhrer's prostate has to be the size of a canned ham. Ivanka is the ONLY PERSON who can fill his chair in his absence!

(19,187 posts)spellcheck wouldn't have given me any indication of THAT faux pas. I guess I rely on technology too much, but who doesn't these days? Anyway, nice catch! I rarely make mistakes like THAT! A Trump supporter would never have caught that, so you PASSED THE TEST! A round of drinks for everyone!
