he lets Ronna McDaniel talk and run all over him.
He simply has to get better at this.
He is depressing me if he's all we've got

(130,865 posts)There were lots among the group seeking the Chair much more impressive than Tom Perez.

(7,574 posts)I did not support him because I thought he was very weak.....not what the party needs right now.

(31,515 posts)She kept talking and talking, louder and louder until I wondered why someone didn't tell her to just STFU. It seems to be Republican MO. Just drown out your opponent so no one can hear what he/she is saying.

(15,220 posts)Appearances matter and Dems need to learn how to handle themselves against this type of media onslaught. It's the playbook of the Republicans for that very purpose. Why Dems are not doing a better job to counter this is beyond me because it's such a common occurrence. Perhaps too concerned about offending? But how one handles a conversation - even with someone else being rude - shows leadership skills.
Dems must improve at this!!!

(90,762 posts)people feeling it would be rude to fight back in the same manner.
But that's just my opinion.
But they do count on people being overwhelmed by their loud voices and vicious attacks and they count on people not being willing to come back as equally as hard.

(90,762 posts)They cry foul when you attack back but they want you to attack back so they can pretend it was you and not them.
It's all part of their MO.
Why people fall for the bullshit is beyond me.
Even to the point they feel they must always be polite to those oppressing them. Almost as if that's all they have to show for themselves, all they have to point to to say, at least I'm better than them because I don't yell back.
I'm talking in general and not in particular.
People can loudly articulate the facts, forcefully do so, and they need to do so without worrying about some right-wingers feelings or how you'll look. Our side is gong to be attacked by the right regardless of how we come across.

(37,449 posts)of them could punch their way out of a wet paper bag. There is no fire in the furnace. You want the Democrats to get their shit in order then we need Obama, it would drive the Repukicans over the edge. Meanwhile they call and call for donations, I've spent heavily on the last 3 elections I won't any more, its proving to be a bad investment.

Since we aren't on the inside, we don't know what's going on with the day to day operations at the DNC. They probably think he's doing an knockout job administrative wise. I'm fairly confident Perez is the best we have right now.

(14,167 posts)And yes, I know it's too late and there's probably not a mechanism to do so.
But we need Howard Dean. And yeah, I know all about the lobbying thing, but Dean is a lot more forceful and impressive in his interviews and (more importantly) he knows how to win across the board (local to national level).
COLGATE4
(14,732 posts)many merits but his personality is not what is needed at this juncture. We need a leader of the party who can 1) inspire 2) organize and 3) out-general the Rethugs. I don't think he's the person for the job.
