New republican talking points:
Yes, Russia hacked the election but it did not change the outcome. Trump won fair and square.
It really wasnt 17 intel agencies that investigated the Trump/Russia connections.
But what about Bill Clintons meeting w/Loretta Lynch?

(5,191 posts)Of course that is the mentality of most Trump supporters.
As far as the outcome of the election not being changed, I'd like to ask them if the can name a state where all voting machines have been thoroughly investigated and the results have been verified as accurate?

(70,449 posts)The Russians were into the county level of our elections. I have no doubt that
both McConnell and Ryan knew all about it too.
We had a coup and people are guilty of treason.

(16,104 posts)They're not talking about hacking machines - no evidence of that. In fact, the Intelligence Community tells us changing vote tallies didn't happen (and on the parts that fit their narrative "we can trust" the Intelligence Community).
No, they want people to come forward and admit that FALSE Russian propaganda convinced them to vote for Donald Trump.
How many of us are going to do THAT?

(70,449 posts).... voter d-bases the Russians/Trump/Republicans were able to effect the
outcome of the elections. Keeping people from being able to vote or having
their votes counted does the same thing as changing the votes themselves.
BTW 80,000 African Americans voted in the Detriot and Flint area but did not
vote for POTUS?

(16,104 posts)In the state - "87,810: Number of voters this election who cast a ballot but did not cast a vote for president. That compares to 49,840 undervotes for president in 2012."
80,000 in Detroit and Flynt? Not a fact.
Total vote - "65 percent: Registered voters who cast a ballot. That compares to 64 percent in 2012. A total of 4.9 million voters participated in the election, compared to 4.8 million four years ago."
More people voted! Fact.
The REAL factor in Michigan - "5 percent: Proportion of voters who opted for a third-party candidate in this election, compared to 1 percent in 2012."
Looks to me like people who said they would never vote for Hillary kept their word.
Without facts and evidence of "Russian interference," we have the truth here. But let's not talk about this.

(972 posts)It goes something like: It happened on his watch and if the action were as big and egregious as describe why didn't Obama say or do anything significant?
Or some iteration of that.
Proud Liberal Dem
(24,396 posts)Nothing of course. He took the information to McConnell and he warned President Obama not to say anything publicly about or he would attack him as interfering in the election. Whether President Obama should have done so anyway is debatable but if he had, Republicans would be following McConnell's marching orders and using his talking points and probably filing lawsuits, voting against sanctions, etc. No doubt about it. None of them would be appreciative of the fact that President Obama did anything in the heat of the election and would have attacked the credibility of the election if Hillary HAD won. As a matter of fact, though, Hillary DID raise the issue of Trump ties to Putin to some degree during the campaign and is now being proven correct.
