I hesitate to post this, but I just learned that a very good friend's (he lives a good distance from me) son died on Friday from an "accidental" gun shot. I use the quotes because such an "accident" isn't "accidental." It's negligence, plain and simple. "Accidental" shootings are 100% preventable by a variety of means. I do not know the details yet, but my heart is broken. I've known this kid since he was 4. He was 17 when he died.

is trying to come to terms with how their son died; I work with teenagers. They sometimes do incredibly impulsive things.
I'm part of a prayer chain. Let me know if prayers are welcome.

they would welcome any expressions of compassion, including prayer.
