by Josh Feldman | 12:07 pm, July 11th, 2017
Donald Trump Jr. is giving his first big interview since the news broke about his meeting with a Russian lawyer to Sean Hannity.
Hannity, of course, has been defending President Trump and his administration as the Russia investigations continue. Hes been one of the topif not the topTrump defenders on cable news.
Just last night, Hannity opened his show railing against the medias Russia psychosis and, after reading Trump Jr.s statement on his meeting, said, The meeting was meaningless, did nothing to produce anything. Wheres the collusion?
This morning Trump Jr. released the email chain in which he is told this is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its governments support for Mr. Trump. He reacted by saying, Seems we have some time and if its what you say I love it especially later in the summer.

(37,748 posts)Or on DeVos getting her ambassadorship "she should have gotten in the first place..."

(10,008 posts)I have detested Ms. DeVos since growing up in Michigan. I am quite familiar with her trying to destroy public education in the state, her husband trying unsuccessfully to buy the governorship, and the Amway MLM pyramid scheme. I stated multiple times she was unqualified for the Sec of Ed. position... also saw how having an clueless idiot in charge to dismantle and/or dumb down education, while enriching her for-profit education products/business holdings, was most likely part of the GOP's game plan. I believe I said I wished she had been given the position of ambassador to somewhere which is what wealthy loyal unqualified political donors/bankrollers usually get for their $$$$$. I still stand by that. Her damage to the country would have been minimal and she could have been left to wine and dine dignitaries in a foriegn country, while diplomatic professional staff attended to serious matters. Wealthy donors often get ambassadorships.
My post here regarding the appearance of Jr. on Hannity was that I bet he pulls out of the interview. That, or he has been assured a pardon from his Dad. I find it hard to believe his attorney would allow Jr. to be interviewed without his presence, even with suck-up Hannity lobbing softballs. The NY Times forced Jr. to release the one email before they posted the story to get ahead of it, but that was still a stupid thing to do.
I am not clairvoyant, just stated my opinion. I do not have cable, so will wait until someone on the internet posts whether the "interview" does or does not happen.

i haven't heard that his lawyer resigned so....who knows?

(82,849 posts)Even in the soft, friendly hands of Sean Hannity, Junior's propensity for saying, tweeting, e-mailing the wrong thing will almost certainly torpedo any gain Junior is hoping to get from a fawning interview. His lawyer should have him held incommunicado at an undisclosed location in a straitjacket.

(21,846 posts)He has already seen that opening his mouth has caused a lot of pushback that he did not expect. Why would he keep on yapping?
He hired an attorney. No way is his attorney approving this. Jr. is heedless and reckless.
But good for us!!

(11,949 posts)Normalization of treason. They know Mueller has everything and all the sordid details will become public about long term collusion with Russia including the President.
Their only hope is to keep enough congressional republicans on their team by convincing the radical deplorables that what they did was not a problem but outsmarting the Democrats. Due to gerrymandering they may well get away with it.
