some thoughts on the Don jr. meeting.

The interview with the Russian lawyer was taken in Moscow, which means it is very unlikely that she will ever be back in the US for questioning by the DOJ or congress.

Who was this person who did the interview, and how did he get it? His questioning seemed to be favorable to the Russians. He never asked her if she would be willing to come back to the US to be interviewed by authorities. He never brought up the fact that there are many Russian spies in the US under the guise of being business people or lawyers.

Where is this Goldstone person? Is he in the United Sates? If he is, the DOJ needs to grab him.

I think Putin and the Russians are trying to help get Trump out of office. They want someone who is malleable, but not someone who is such a fool that he makes it obvious. The Russian lawyer had no problem bringing up that the fact that Don jr. was looking for info on the Clinton campaign. That is also why Putin brought up the idea of cooperation in a cyber unit. He had to know that most Americans would think that was crazy, and that Trump was dim enough to buy into it. They made him look like an idiot.

The miscalculation that Putin has made is in the underestimation of the American People. Yes, many of us are materialistic, self indulgent, and don't pay much attention to national affairs, but we cherish our democracy and we will rise to preserve it, the same way we rose to defend it after the attack at Pearl Harbor. He and this country are going to pay for this.
