You dont even have to connect dots

... The apparent plot — yes .. a secret plot — involved .. three of Donald Trump’s closest advisers, a Trump business partner (and that man’s son), a Russian official close to Vladimir Putin, and two emissaries ... You do not need Agent Mulder to get to the bottom of this.

... Aras Agalarov .. is a billionaire developer in Russia .. Vladimir Putin .. in 2013 awarded him the Order of Honor ... Agalarov is also a business partner of Donald Trump. In 2013, he signed .. with Trump to bring to Moscow the Miss Universe contest, which Trump co-owned ... That deal was brokered by Emin Agalarov, Aras’s son and a middling pop star, and Emin’s manager, a Brit named Rob Goldstone.

... Trump had tried to do hotel and condo projects in Moscow. All these endeavors had failed or fizzled ... The Miss Universe event was his only successful venture there. It was good for the Agalarovs. The contest was held in Crocus City Hall, part of a large shopping and exhibition complex they own ... Emin, as part of the deal, got to perform two songs before a global audience ...

The event made .. $12 million for Trump’s Miss Universe Organization. Even better for Trump, the pageant forged a tight bond between him and Aras and Emin Agalarov. Trump appeared in a music video Emin released. The Trump Organization and the Agalarovs started working on a deal to bring a Trump tower to Moscow ...

And in the following years, there was steady contact between the Trumps and the Agalarovs—and Goldstone, too ...

Trumps' have had a close business relationship / Trump Tower
Deal w/ Azerbaijan's Anar Mammadov (beginning around 2008?)

Anar Mammadov is son of Azeri Government Minister &

• Mammadov family is close with
Azeri President Aliyev &Family (Aliyev's wife is now Azeri VP)

• Azeri President Aliyev's eldest daughter MARRIED to EMIN AGALAROV

• Mammadov's are known to be extremely corrupt
& do business with
Iranian Revolutionary Guard shell companies (see article snip below)

• Anar is head of SOCAR (Azerbaijan oil Co) who has joint ventures with Rosneft & deals with Putin & Sechin personally....

• Pres. Aliyev's children (including daughter married to Emin AGALAROV)
are the primary share holders in several Azerbaijan banks....

• And the family company
ATA Holdings
owns 49% of Russian VTB ojsc bank -
which is 51% Russian Govt owned

• while dealing with Anar Mammadov on the Baku Trump tower Ivanka went to Baku monthly to oversee construction

• And during 2014-2015 the monetary assets -- in the three banks that the Aliyev children have primary ownership of -- grew by 42% on average ..

• But that level of growth was not experienced by any non-Aliyev family owned banks in Azerbaijan......

Adam Davidson describes in great detail in his investigative report how Mammadov was known as “notoriously corrupt even for Azerbaijan,” in a U.S. diplomatic cable leaked by WikiLeaks years ago.

He and his family also have close ties to a prominent Iranian business family, the Darvishis, whose members headed Revolutionary Guard-controlled firms that the U.S. government accused of sponsoring terrorism abroad and engaging in illicit activity including drug trafficking and money laundering.

With the Baku hotel deal, the Trump Organization may have violated federal corruption laws, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the New Yorker notes.

The heart of the problem seems to be little due diligence before Trump jumped into the project, even though the country is known for being corrupt, his partners were billionaires on a $12,000-a-year-government salary, and corrupt practices were so commonly talked about they litter the State Department cables released by WikiLeaks and featured prominently in a 2014 Foreign Policy piece, “The Corleones of the Caspian.”

“The entire Baku deal is a giant red flag — the direct involvement of foreign government officials and their relatives in Azerbaijan with ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Corruption warning signs are rarely more obvious,” Jessica Tillipman, an FCPA expert and assistant dean at George Washington University Law School, told the New Yorker.

“The Trump Organization’s Baku project shows the lack of ‘extreme vetting’ Mr. Trump applied to his own business dealings in corruption-plagued regimes around the globe…. Congress — and the Trump Administration itself — has a duty to examine whether the President or his family is exposed to terrorist financing, sanctions, money laundering, and other imprudent associations through their business holdings and connections,” Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) said in an email to New Yorker.
