By the way - Sanders voted for the amendment to oppose Sanctions on Russia

https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=115&session=1&vote=00144

He voted for the amendment to oppose Sanctions on Russia, and against the one that lumped Iran sanctions in with it.

Every single Dem senator that voted for the bill to impose sanctions against Iran and Russia supports the Iranian nuclear deal. It was AFTER it was made clear that that deal was not effected by the new sanctions Dems supported the bill.

Yet here you are disputing even the mildest criticism of Sanders....
He was one of only two senators that voted against the sanctions against Russia.
That is very telling, and not a word in my original post was wrong or false.

That one plunged us deeply into the Vietnam war under LBJ. Then there is Barbara Lee. Lee gained national attention in 2001 as the only member of congress to vote "No" on the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists (AUMF), stating that she voted no not because she opposed military action but because she believed the AUMF, as written, granted overly-broad powers to wage war to the president at a time when the facts regarding the situation were not yet clear. She "warned her colleagues to be 'careful not to embark on an open-ended war with neither an exit strategy nor a focused target.

All of them were proved right

When did Sanders figure it out?

When did Democrats figure it out?

That's why all supporters of the nuclear deal voted yes.

1) Sanders voted YES the Russian sanctions the day before.

2) The next day, the Repubs tacked on Iranian sanctions for terrorism, human rights, and their missile program.

3) Bernie Votes NO, fearing the Iranian sanctions would jeopardize the prior nuclear deal.

4) The Democratic Caucus did not share this fear, and votes YES.

http://twitchy.com/brettt-3136/2017/06/15/bernie-sanders-takes-heat-for-vote-against-sanctions-saying-they-could-endanger-iran-nuclear-deal/

By an overwhelming 98-2 vote, the Senate passed Sen. Bob Corker’s “Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017” Thursday, with Sen. Rand Paul and Sen. Bernie Sanders being the only nay votes.

Although the act imposes sanctions on Iran, an amendment which imposes sanctions on Russia and blocks the president’s power to lift or ease those sanctions grabbed the most attention in the headlines.

Don't think it was one of Sanders best moves. That said, I'm overall very happy with his voting record and this passed by an overwhelming margin.

I am not saying that this OP is anything other than sincere, but Republicans have noticed and keyed in on tensions between left and less left Democrats and plan to use that against us in upcoming elections:

Source: McClatchy Washington Bureau:
"Democrats shouting about ethical lapses by Republicans in the Donald Trump era should be prepared for a taste of their own medicine in 2018. A major Republican organization dedicated to digging up dirt on Democrats has restructured its leadership team and is now laying down congressional- and presidential-year campaign plans, which include a bigger push in digital advertising, highlighting Democratic “hypocrisy” on ethical issues and exploiting the divide on the left between centrists and progressives.
