WSJ: Rob Goldstone was also at Trump Tower on the day Junior met with Veselnitskaya

I'm sorry I can't post a link what with the WSJ being behind a firewall. We get the paper version at work and I just about fell out of my chair when I read on today's page 4, buried at the end of a brief profile of Goldstone, that his Facebook page put him at Trump Tower at 4 pm on the day of the meeting with Natalya Veselnitskaya.

Whoa, stop the presses! Has any other source mentioned this or pick up on it? Was he in the meeting with Veselnitskaya too, or (as I suspect) was he there to speak personally to Trump that day about whatever it was that the Russian lawyer had to offer?

Another thing: CNN mentioned in passing today that Veselnitskaya had overstayed her visa and that it was being investigated. I didn't catch the details, the remark kinda flew right by. Are any reporters looking into when she applied for her US visa (in other words, when was it apparent to her that she needed to go to the US), how long she stayed and where, did she have any other meetings? It's a long way to fly from Moscow to NY just to deliver a "nothing burger."

Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) said he wants answers on why the Russian lawyer who met with Donald Trump Jr. was in the United States, since her entry visa had been denied.

The chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee said on "Fox & Friends" that he has written to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and DHS Secretary John Kelly in an effort to find out what happened.

and it is just guess, that dude was once in Jakarta and turned the gps off on his phone and hasn't turned it back on since so the location never reset. The phone is using cell tower signals to tell where it is, but the gps thinks it is still in jakarta

4. It seems strange to me that the media isn't highlighting this

His presence there makes it all the more unlikely that Trump Sr didn't know about the meeting - Goldstone clearly wanted him to have the info. Did he fly from London for the express purpose of being the go-between from Veselnitskaya to Trump, I wonder?

So the US Embassy gave a visa to someone who wanted to promote a movie trashing a very brave Russian whose death led to the US sanctioning of Russian citizens. That is very sad.

I'm trying to find the source. I heard an interview with the director of the film on NPR yesterday morning (this morning?). He was asked whether she mentioned the meeting with him. He said no, there wasn't time because they were there on a very short visa and running around dealing with the film.

They played the clip on NPR, but I'm not sure where they got it.

I'm sure the special counsel and all his decorated co-counsel would love to grill old Goldy about his visit to Trump Tower.

He looks the type that would break down easily under duress.

That speak to just how close Trump, Goldstone, and Emin Agalarov were. (And Ivanka in a rare photo without false eyelashes!)

Our media needs to get to the bottom of what the sender of the email to Trump Jr was doing at Trump Tower while the meeting was taking place. It's inconceivable that he wouldn't debrief Trump Sr on the meeting.

Trump's going to get caught out on his latest lie - that he only found out about it 2 days ago.

A new peripheral character in the Trump universe stepped into the spotlight this week: the entertainment publicist and former tabloid reporter Rob Goldstone.

This is the man who facilitated a meeting last year between Donald Trump Jr. and Natalia Veselnitskaya, a Russian lawyer and Moscow insider, with the promise of information that “would incriminate Hillary [Clinton] and her dealings with Russia.”

Mr. Goldstone, who runs the public relations company Oui 2 Entertainment, contacted Donald Trump Jr. by email on behalf of his client, Emin Agalarov, a Russian pop star whose father, Aras, is a real estate tycoon. Aras Agalarov worked with President Trump and Mr. Goldstone to take the Miss Universe contest to Moscow in 2013.

On Tuesday, Donald Trump Jr. posted images of his email exchanges with Mr. Goldstone on his Twitter account after learning that The New York Times planned to publish them. The meeting, details of which were first reported by The Times, took place on June 9, 2016, on the 25th floor of Trump Tower and was attended by Donald Trump Jr.; his brother-in-law, Jared Kushner; Paul Manafort, President Trump’s campaign manager at the time; and Mr. Goldstone.
