He's one of those guys.
You know the ones, they cluster around Mitch McConnell like obsequious manservants anxiously awaiting his next finger snap. In this case, he's Colorado's missing-in-action senator, Cory Gardner. Back home, he has his staffers arresting constituents in wheelchairs; if you try to call his office, good luck getting anything but a recording. Over the holiday break he disappeared into a remote deep-red sanctuary where he wouldn't be in danger of contamination from contact with Democrats or other evil libruls. In DC he's easy to spot with his gameshow host smile and skunk-striped hair. And if he isn't in his office chances are good that he's jockeying for position to be first in line to kiss McConnell's flabby ass, it's part of his on-the-job training.
