On the way home from work this morning I clocked out 0300 tired. Turned down two hours overtime, on way home I was hit by drunk driver thankfully no one was hurt but I do believe the 2001 Subaru is done. Two months ago I had re manufactured motor put in it and last year a used transmission. My wife gets new car every three years as she drives like 50 miles one way to work a day. Guys I work with used to aggravate me saying buy new car I'd tell em nope I do not want a bank payment. My plan was in humor to drive that Subaru until I took my union pension in 14 years. I guess I'll drive the suv it's 97 pathfinder or I may get the vw diesel inspected the vw got two of our three daughters to and from college ,So much for the best laid plans.

(685 posts)When you do start your discussions with the other insurance company make sure you have them include the cost of all the additional work you have had done. If you don't make them aware they will just try to settle for market value of the vehicle.
So glad you are ok.

I have '16 and '17 VW's. Really really like them. I spent a lot of time negotiating the '16. They had just released that Passat sales had plummeted 60%. Got an amazing price. Negotiated the '17 a little while back. Did very well on that one as well. Good luck if you have to go that direction.

Thanks for the your ok's just talked to my insurance adjuster. He told me as long as I have receipt for the new motor and I do I just scanned it to him I'll get that as well. That was 5200$ and he is going try on tranny work as well , I just liked the car garage kept body was great and investing in remanned motor was way to beat the bank on car payments. I could drove it another decade I'm cheap, going get the vw inspected dropping it off local garage 0900 it should last vw diesel 135000 original miles. And I only drive 22 miles round trip and it got 2 of our three daughters to and from college, the vw came home this June after the youngest daughter graduated college. It will all work out.
