Listening to my great uncle and neighbor talk I enjoy it

My uncle is 83 kate is I think 79, sitting on back porch just listening to jay and Katherine talk. as in how FDR was president when they were children and he saved America. And they came of age under Truman and Eisenhower. And they refer to them as president, Katherine was telling us how her high school guidance counselsor told her she could not become a pharmacist why that is a job for a man in the late 1950s when she was in high school. So kate went to nursing college and became RN , and then in the 1970s she went back to college and became a pharmacist. Jay talking saying after Korea war he decided to make army a career he could not imagine working in steel mills or mines of western pa. How the world has changed since they were young think about it when we're their age smart phones will be obsolete.

They were the early to bed, early to rise type. One night they stayed up really, really late to watch tv and let me, at 6 years-old, stay up late with them. I didn't understand what was so important but I did when I got older. It was the moon walk. My grandfather was born in 1901 and used to take the horse and wagon into New York city as a youngster. I can't imagine what he was thinking when he saw that.
