(is anybody besides me reminded of Nancy Sinatra doing "these boots are made for walking" in seeing Madam Macron in that outfit? and no, it is not a dig)
and what is that spot on mel's skirt?

(115,674 posts)I think it's a bit too short (it makes her arms look too long) but with a couple more inches at the hem it would be a nice dress. Is that a bug on Melania's skirt?

(27,802 posts)Apparently the age difference between Brigitte Macron and her husband is the same as between the Trumps.

(115,674 posts)Her arms are thin, but that hasn't necessarily to do with her age. Personally, I'd wear a dress with longer sleeves and a longer skirt because the short skirt makes her arms look unusually long and thin. (In fact I do wear longer sleeves but that's because my arms are NOT thin.) I'm close to her age (a bit older, and without a cute younger husband), and I definitely could not get away with that dress, so more power to her.

At a minimum it's disgusting. You can figure out the other labels yourself.

(115,674 posts)Granted, nobody forced her to do it, but at the time she probably thought she was getting a great deal - a young second-string immigrant model gets to marry a famous New York real estate mogul and TV personality; he might have even seemed charming to her when she first met him almost 20 years ago. She probably did marry him for his money, but I suspect he's turned out to be more disgusting, and life with him is a lot more awful, than she expected. I don't really feel sorry for her, but I'm not surprised that she looks unhappy most of the time.

(1,714 posts)Very 60's, and every time I see her in something similar, it crosses my mind that she is trying to relive her teen years. Same with the black dress she wore at the G7. She also wore white skinny jeans to one events at the G7, and just looked out of place, with the other women dressed a bit more formally. Her skirts are almost always way too short.

(5,810 posts)Maybe someone could kindly insert a thought bubble above their heads via photoshop so we could have a little fun?
I have a swimsuit coverup that looks remarkably like Brigitte's dress minus the extra zippers. I probably paid considerably less for it than she did for hers.
Seems like I remember back at some point long ago when hemlines were well regulated in school. A girl's skirt was deemed legal if the hem reached the tips of her outstretched fingers. So just guessing here.....but I think Brigitte would pass the test.
She is a mature and very slender woman. She has had too much sun exposure, judging by the wrinkling and texture of her skin. Given that she is 64, just a few years behind me, she grew up during a time when we were just learning that too much sun is unhealthy and really hard on the skin. We know better NOW. Nothing (except maybe smoking) ages the skin like excessive sun exposure. Once that damage is done, it is really hard to reverse it. So I can cut her some slack on looking her age---skinwise.
She is also very thin and as a person who struggles with weight now that I am older, I must say it is probably genetic. I try and try and fail to get anywhere close to as thin as I was as a young woman. Most of the women in my family struggled with that, too. Brigitte probably inherited skinny genes. On the plus side, plump ladies tend to have fewer wrinkles.
