(89 posts)The war on Christianity is real, it's being waged by so-called Christians who demand the very opposite of what the Christ character taught.

(367 posts)Using one situation to make a part of their agenda become "normalized"
Their party agenda wants to implement Christianity as the one and only American religion. Then they will use that as basis to implement major changes to American democracy. Yes, we're a republic, and a democracy. We ate not a religion with a country.
I better stop now.

(82,849 posts)I have to tell you as a member of one of the historic peace churches of Christendom, I have long been victimized by having the lion's share of my tax dollars going to support the American war machine, which deals out death, mayhem and destruction all over the globe.
Please let me know what sort of relief you will be advocating for the Society of Friends, Mennonites, and Church of the Brethren members, and the programs you will propose so that our citizens are properly housed, clothed, and fed, like it says in Matthew's gospel. Also, will there be a formal policies that ensure that those who have little do not have too little and that those who have much will not have too much, as the Apostle Paul advised his friends in Corinth? Taking a cue from the book of Acts, will there be a more conscientious effort on the part of the administration to pool our nation's resources and guarantee a more equitable distribution of our nation's wealth to those who have a need?
If none of these proposals are what you meant, then what DID you mean in that private meeting you held as part of your official duties?
Oh, and how are you coming on correcting your false testimony before Congress? Lying's one of those things the Big 10 specifically mentions as something you shouldn't do.

(63,221 posts)Democracy is under attack. Decency is under attack. Human rights are under attack. But religion (and when you say religion, we all know you mean Christianity) is not under attack. Far from it. The religious are attacking everything that is good and right with this country.
We are all so damn sick of you Christian martyrs playing the victim all the time when the truth is that you are the victimizers.

(1,148 posts)That was far from the worst thing he said or did. He praised the Alliance Defending Freedom, who are a theocrating group. They don't even believe in hate crime laws, so de facto a percentage of the population is being told they are not entitled to justice.
