Fox News appears to be censoring the most damaging aspect of Donald Trump Jr.s correspondence with Russia, with the news company automatically deleting any reference made within the comments section on its website.
***
The email made it clear that Donald Trump Jr. believed the information he would receive came directly from the Russian government. As Vox noted, the evidence came in an chain of correspondence with Rob Goldstone, a British publicist who set up the meeting between Trump Jr. and lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya on behalf of Russian oligarchs Emin and Aras Agalarov.
This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its governments support for Mr. Trump, the initial email read.
But users who read articles on the Fox News website will not see that sentence. The news company appears to have set up an auto-filter that immediately deletes any reference to the above quote posted within its comment section.

(9,670 posts)Pity there's not a bona fide filter in place to protect our citizens from news entertainment posing as factually-credible news.
In this case, these are direct quotes, not inferences, taken from emails made public by and attested to by DT Jr. There is no conjecture, no editorializing involved. To remove significant passages to intentionally mislead your readers should be punishable.
Such acts of propaganda are antithetical to a free press and our First Amendment. There's a whole lot of Americans who are going to be caught with their pants down when Mueller unveils his indictments and all the FOX News ostriches are forced to pull their heads out of their asses.

(58,724 posts)Here's a Fox News article about the emails:
Goldstone added: This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its governments support for Mr. Trump.
Thats critical because Trump Jr. was explicitly told that the Putin government was behind this.

It contains that exact sentence.

(26,397 posts)The article I posted is about the Fox News website, not the TV.
And what I posted suggests the Fox website is scrubbing/censoring comments about the Russian connection.
Explain more if I'm missing something.

(58,724 posts)And they are not censoring mention of it in the comments.
This entire story is made up based off of some random person's post on Reddit.
There are lots of comments on the Fox News website that mention the Russia content in the emails (Scroll through them if you can stomach it, and you will see).
