That was the genesis of much of RMN's animus.

(3,975 posts)their reality is their reality. They are superior and we are mere planets revolving around their sun. So no. He will continue to watch the FOX dupes and bathe in that reality.

(2,029 posts)...but deep down his pathological narcissism craves universal approval. The fact that he has always been looked down upon by his betters fuels the dysfunction we are all forced to witness on a daily basis now.

(25,111 posts)I would be watching my back constantly just like what GOPers and t-rump administration is doing right now to each other. This life style is totally stressful no matter how much money you have you are always afraid of losing it by someone who you think is your friend and or business partner.

(46,057 posts)Part of his problem is that he has a big persecution complex from being locked out of the Elites' associations and clubs since he moved out of Queens into Manhattan. The Maidstone Club in Easthampton told him not to even bother filling out an application because it would not be considered. (One of the oldest and poshest clubs in the Hamptons for the Old Rich). He's not a member of exclusive golf clubs like Tuxedo Park, National Golf Course or Shinnecock Hills (the latter two in Southampton), so he goes around the world building his own golf courses and clubs for other noveau riches and arrivistes. He's not on a single Board of Directors of any corporation. He's not invited to social events that charities throw. He doesn't even support the NYC arts like the Koch Brothers.
Not to mention, he's Hell to bear as company. The Elites want someone who can do passable repartee.
Nah, he's got a real chip on his shoulder that he's not part of New York's aristocracy despite his wealth.

(10,173 posts)Trump is actually the personification of elitism given what he's gotten away with over decades.
I could understand Nixon's gripes to a point.. Not Trump's.

(10,952 posts)Johnson reports that Trump has a deep seated fear of being publicly humiliated. That is why he gets to upset over anything that makes it appears that he is an illegitimate President. He wants to think that he won the election fair and square and that it was not won by election fraud.

(1,934 posts)He bilked me for $3000.
He bilked our agent who paid all the travel & hotel costs for the 4 Trump employees for $45,000.
At night after a few drinks the Trump employees admitted how much they loathed the man.
They said they were hoping a job with Trump was a stepping stone to a better job in NY but were finding when applying for jobs and saying they worked for Trump it worked against them.
That was in 2007 and we thought it an anomaly until NY pals in the media said Trump was one of the most loathed persons in New York, renowned for not paying bills, sending small contractors broke.

Sad thing is, the man is a pile of shit, but yet he's also just a broken little boy looking for the love and congratulations and "I'm proud of ya" that he probably never got from his parents. And his anti-social behavior doesn't help anyone to like him, either.
The man is fucked up.

(877 posts)All my brother cares about is "what other people think" and how he's "better and more educated than others". He lauds his DDS (really? he's a dentist!) over everyone and even socially introduces himself as Dr. Peter. He divorced his first wife because he stopped being the center of her universe -- why? they had kids and he blamed it on her paying attention to the kids and not him.
They fear what they'll look like to others and absolutely fear humiliation. That's why it doesn't matter to Cheetolini if he goes broke, he cares what it looks like when he goes broke and has to be in jail.
Here's a new motto -- "It's the humiliation, stupid!"
