1. Hmm, interesting, not "eye surgery" at all

which explains why he'll be out all next week.

Depending on where the clot was and what they had to disturb to get at it, and whether it is likely to recur, he might be out for a very long time.

I hope he will be ok but will not be able to return to the Senate until the doctors say he is fully recovered. Maybe like 2 or 3 months. He needs to stay home until he is fully well.

Most of us would be expected to be back on the time clock by now or risk losing our jobs. Hope he is ok but it would be nice if everybody were treated the same way.

4. It's not like it's brain surgery...

Oh wait.....
it really depends if it was open or stereotactic. I expect he got the best care available. Too bad his employers don't get the same.

8. Yep. It wasn't a clot "above his eye." It was a big clot IN HIS BRAIN.
Mon Jul 17, 2017, 01:18 AM

They had to saw through his forehead and remove a piece of his skull to access the part of his brain where the clot was. That is a major, delicate surgery with a long list of risks and potentional complications, like brain damage, paralysis, and of course death.

I just don't get why the media reported it as a blood clot "above his eye" when it was actually a big blood clot in his brain.
