Every time I prepare my material on the Ancient Near East, I get depressed.

I hope there is an afterlife, and that there is a special place in hell for ISIS.

Not only do they torture and kill people, but they attempt to erase THEIR OWN HISTORY!!

Every time I prepare my lectures on Kalhu, Nimrud, and Nineveh I just get so depressed.

All that history, gone forever.

Their own ancestors' proud legacy.

These morons couldn't build something grand and beautiful if their lives depended on it.

Murderous jerks.

artifacts. ISIS as a whole is a scumbag money-centric operation that uses religion as an excuse.

All you see here is destroyed, for example.

Like you, I have a special interest in that area.

In addition, I didn't even know Buddhism made it as far as Afghanistan until the Taliban (or whoever it was at the time) bombarded and destroyed ancient carvings of the Buddha.

Horrible loss to humanity.

And, really doesn't demonstrate much faith in your faith, now does it?
