Health care is not like most other markets

What part of the demand for health care is inelastic doesn't the GOP understand?

I just saw a bullshit academic article suggest it is. The author should get hit by a car, get all broken up and barely alive, and then tell the EMTS as they air vac him or her away to look for the best and cheapest trauma center

I know, right?

They quoted me $5k to take out my appendix, so I told them to take my tonsils instead.

A half informed person can think of many every day instance where there is no time to shop.

It's not like buying a new toaster.

people will just want/use more and more of it taking more money out of the well-to-do's pockets.

And they understand that we have the most expensive healthcare in the world, less than the best outcomes, and leave a lot of people uncovered. They just don't care enough to get in there and make the changes that are necessary long-term for fear it will tick off much of their base who profit from our healthcare system or who don't want to pay for other peoples' care through taxes. They also don't want to make cuts to the blood-sucking Military Budget to fund things like healthcare and education.
