Instead of letting Obamacare die as Trump suggested, Senate Republicans have defied Trump and announced that they would be holding hearings on how to stabilize the insurance marketplace.

Here is the statement from HELP committee chairman Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN):





What you are seeing is Senate Republicans beginning to lay the groundwork for the bipartisan legislation that will make Obamacare stronger.

Sen. Alexander’s announcement is interesting because it came hours after Trump said, “I’ve been saying that — Mike, I think you’ll agree — for a long time. Let Obamacare fail. It will be a lot easier. And I think we’re probably in that position where we’ll just let Obamacare fail.”

5. All that political activism has undermined the Republican talking point

Republican Senators, are hearing the message, all those town halls, all the sit in's, all those articles, all those videos, have triggered the fear of God or compassion in Republican senators.

I am not going to try to find out which, it doesn't matter. Quite helpful to let it sit the way it is better to be graceful winners.

Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan and the White House must be losing it right now, they failed. (I will focus my victory dance on leadership alone).

6. The worst thing for Democrats, but the best thing for Republicans and the American people

is for Reps to take this on the chin, quickly arrange hearings to sort out the ACA in a bipartisan manner, and then claim victory. They have the balls (and lying capability) to do so.

If they did that, they could take Health off the table and then attack Democrats of Tax Reform and Infrastructure.

I REALLY hope Democratic strategists are on their game, to block them off.
