Congressman wants to know - Civilizations on Mars????

In case you were wondering, there's no evidence that Mars hosted an alien civilization thousands of years ago.

Nonetheless, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., asked a panel of planetary scientists to speculate about this possibility today (July 18), during a hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee on Science, Space and Technology's Space Subcommittee.

The inquiry followed testimony by panelist Ken Farley, the project scientist for NASA's Mars 2020 rover mission, stating that the Red Planet had lakes and rivers, and perhaps even a huge northern ocean, until about 3.6 billion years ago. So it fell to Farley to answer the question of whether Mars was perhaps once home to intelligent aliens. [13 Ways to Hunt Intelligent Aliens]

"So, the evidence is that Mars was different billions of years ago, not thousands of years ago, and there is no evidence I'm aware of that — " Farley began.

"Would you rule that out?"' Rohrabacher interjected.

"I would say that is extremely unlikely," Farley responded

I can hear Farley when he returned to NASA and standing around the water cooler with his fellow scientist, "And then the dumbass asked me about ancient intelligent aliens"

I held out for mccain and graham to be patriots, even they made a conscious decision that power is more important than country.

if a NASA probe crashed in Piedmont, AZ, Dana Rohrabacher would be the first person to pry it open and have a look inside? We all know repukes can't keep their hands off NASA equipment.

8. Growing up Rohrabacher probably watched too many science fiction b-movies .

There were a lot of movies in the 1950s that had space aliens from other planets. Perhaps Rohrabacher thought they were documentaries.

Or maybe he is stupid.

His question was of Gohmert proportions. I seriously doubt he is capable of doing that.

I'm sure during one of their Ancient Aliens episodes on their Friday marathons someone has said, "...as Ancient Alien researchers believe there could have been, possibly, a civilization there. Maybe." Rohrbacher is probably referring to that.
