Won't the safety of the nation out-weigh the niceties of the legal process?
Won't he have to stop everything and announce the danger?
Is this what we have to look forward to?

(56,828 posts)that after election day, several persons in Russia died under mysterious circumstances. I'm wondering if Flynn gave them a few names? Or, maybe not names, but where these people were located and/or what info they were providing - that way, he can say he didn't turn over any names.

Whether the conclusions of the investigation are made public or not will probably depend whether they contain any classified information, which I suspect they will. He doesn't try cases.
Mueller is an investigator working for the Department of Justice. The Constitution is not a "legal nicety" in any way. Whatever is discovered by the special investigator will be handled through the proper channels. There are no work-arounds or shortcuts.

If Trump is shoveling Russia our electoral process and computer codes, for instance, what might legally stop him?

(146,284 posts)is impeachment by the House and removal by a 2/3 majority in the Senate, not very quickly at all, really. Right now, with both houses of Congress in Republican hands, maybe forever. However, It could all be handled in about a week, really, if Congress really wanted to get rid of a President. It would take that long to draw up the resolution, and vote in the House and then have a perfunctory trial and vote in the Senate.
A more likely result would be for the President to resign, after pardoning his entire cabinet and getting a signed pardon promise from the Vice President that was made public before Trump resigned. That could all happen in a single day. And might well happen if the information from the Mueller investigation was sufficiently damning.
Things can move quickly in an emergency situation, but only if the situation is so dire as to present a clear and present threat. More likely will be a long, drawn-out process that may not even being before late in 2018. The 2018 election is sort of a deadline, really. If Republicans in Congress feel threatened enough by what is coming out, they might just act to try to save their phony baloney jobs.
I don't expect any fast release of Mueller's results, though. They probably won't come this year, based on similar investigations in the past. We'd better hope for a resignation, I think.
