repeating and rephrasing what should be a 30-second set-up to the payoff for the A Segment story. A little less verbal masturbation on her part would work wonders.

I don’t even bother with the first 15 minutes of her show. Haven't for a couple of years. That aspect of her "style" sucks.

In Rachel's case, I don't bother listening to the background babble of her set-up. Doesn't mean I'm not tuned in.

She did open last night's show with an admirable spot on John McCain's condition. That, I listened to. The ensuing rambling, not so much.

BTW - as I'm typing this, the Tour de France is on the TV machine. I'm half paying attention to that, but mostly focussed on typing this response.

so of her show, then tuning in to her. I don't find I've missed a thing except for getting pissed and yelling at the TV to "get to the goddamn point!".
