Sessions staying on empowers trump to wipe his ass with the Justice Department, at will. Congressional hearings on whoever trump came up with as Sessions' successor would have been a media spectacle, eroding what little is left of trump's public standing. The dirty little Confederate's lack of guts and self-respect just serves to prolong things.

Than any semblance of pride or dignity. He'd rather make sure nonviolent drug offenders get longer sentences or make sure civil asset forfeiture is still taking from black people.

There's not much time left for (some members of) his generation to set back the clock...
