Nauseating as it is to have media delivering a constant litany of Trump’s serial depredations, at least that coverage is germane to comprehending the matters of considerable importance that will impact this country for generations; ghastly as it is, it really does matter. Given that, there is no excuse for the broadcast media’s abdication of its fourth estate responsibility in order to provide wall-to-wall coverage of OJ.

every evening is a waste of time. There's a lot of news out there that goes undiscussed.

If they devoted the energy to civil asset forfeiture that they do the slower targets then public attitudes toward law enforcement, self-governance, attorneys general and the POTUS might be different.

It rules television news. Grabbing a handful of pundits and beating one or two stories to death over a few hours' time is easier than going out and hunting down actual news.

They are doing constant Simpson coverage????? After 20+ years the media is still willing to go full-on OJ because he got paroled?

That is completely idiotic.

For an all too brief period after 9-11 we had a decrease in celeb-driven "news". All these years later I recall watching Banfield's program in which she was in the Middle East and starting to interview a panel of college students, Israeli and Palestinian. I remember thinking that this could be very informative. But the program was interrupted to cover the breaking story of Robert Blake's arrest. I've never been able to learn what happened with that panel.

It's obvious that Rome is burning even as we speak. Why the blackout while focusing on a murder that happened decades ago? Ratings. The OJ thing was a ratings bonanza back in the day, so maybe it's merely greed.

No one here had to post about it yet there is op after op. No one on discussion boards all over the place had to post about it, but they are. It's worthiness has been proven by the clear interest.

I'm with you in the fact it is not newsworthy to me. I do recognize it is to others.

Sessions officially overturning Holder's halt of asset seizure without cause.
Senate Judiciary hearings grilling Jr. and Manefort.
Drumpf's threats to GOP senators who don't approve of either the Replace or Repeal.
Demonization of GOP women by the Trump-bots.

Tur's schooling of Kobach on logic:
If you say you can't be sure that a whopping 3 million + voters who made up the margin of popular win votes by Ms. Clinton in areas where she was a sure win were legit, can you say you are sure that the much smaller number in highly contested swing districts - the just ~ 150,000 votes that made up the margin for an electoral college "victory" for the current pResident - were legit?
Of course you can't...
