If black folks were doing this, the cops would have put a hundred rounds through us before we got to the third tire...
But we all know this weirdo isn't getting charged or getting his guns confiscated...

(195 posts)It's actually a beautiful state. I've been between here and South Georgia practically my whole life. I know it's cliche, but really...we AREN'T all like this! I swear. Some of us Florida Men are up to buck the trend at this point.
EDIT Also, as a liberal living in a very Trumpian area, I almost feel I have to be careful at this point.

(31,261 posts)As the population grows, we are making progress. But there are lots of rural areas and repukes dominate in those places.
It just hurts to see people always kicking us in the groin because of a few thoughtless and vile idiots. There are a lot of good strong Democrats and liberals here. Give us a little support, please.

(51,308 posts)every day I see posts here from people in other states who are to scared to even put a bumpersticker on their car.
Florida is no worse than anywhere else.
If anything, it seems to collect all the loonies from the other 49. I lived in Florida for years; never even locked my doors.

(9,067 posts)He was shooting BLACK tires.
He was standing on GROUND.
He was DEFENDING HIS PROPERTY.
He was AFRAID VERY AFRAID.
In Miami, most utility workers are UNDOCUMENTED CRIMINALS.
He was shooting bullets MADE IN AMERICA.
He can't be charged in a SANCTUARY CITY.
By any legal reasoning here, he did nothing wrong!!

(26,619 posts)I expect to see 6 big cops taking him down, tasing him, kicking him, screaming obscenities all at the same time. For good measure, after all he really WAS armed and dangerous, they could've put a dozen bullets in him. But, he is a white guy.

(6,324 posts)No arguing with the video. His attorney right
And I do remember that case. She didn't have good reason. She had safely left the location he was at, got a gun, went back to his location and fired a shot. There was literally nothing she did that was wise or justified.

(6,324 posts)So your predictions are both wrong.
If this had happened when I was a deputy I would have him up for:
Assault with a deadly weapon
Going armed at the terror of the public (a unique NC law, not sure if they have an equivalent in FL)
Damage to personal property
Discharging a firearm within 100 feet of a road
Discharging a firearm within 300 feet of an occupied dwelling.
Discharging a firearm inside city limits
And anything else we could come up with.

And that has in fact happened.
So yes, in your original post you were, in fact, wrong.

Florida has the 10-20-30 law, with 20 years mandatory for discharging the firearm in the course of a felony. He will most likely make a deal, but you can't really argue Florida is soft on this particular crime...

You do realize that incapacitating the offending vehicle will result in said vehicle being stuck even longer right???? No??? Ok carry on then...

It's the ultimate "Get off my lawn!" but shooting someone in the ankles isn't going to help that happen.
