If they do nothing the Democrats could take the House and Senate in 2018 and end up with Nancy Pelosi in the White House in 2019

is realistic. However, if Democrats win the Senate, it will mean a spectacular tidal wave of an election. Right now, it's 52 Republicans, 46 Democrats and 2 Indies that caucus with Democrats (King and Sanders)

However, in 2018, Republicans only have to defend 10 seats, while Democrats have to defend somewhere around 25 seats, including 10 in states that Trump won last year - Mary Landrieu, Heidi Heitkamp, Joe Donnelly, Claire McCaskill, Jon Tester, Joe Manchin and Sherrod Brown (always a favorite GOP target) are all vulnerable.

if Democrats hold even in the Senate and win the House, it will be a huge victory for them going into 2020.
