155 protesters arrested defending health care at Republican Senate offices

Senate Republicans are learning that when you try to take health coverage from tens of millions of people, you get some protests. On Wednesday, 155 people were arrested at Republican senators’ offices for seeking to defend health care for all of us:

Police officials said in a statement that officers responded to “demonstration activity” at 45 separate locations in Senate office buildings beginning about 2:15 p.m. Authorities said demonstrators were warned “to cease and desist with their unlawful demonstration activities” before police made arrests, the statement said.

Officials reported that the 155 people had been charged with crowding, obstructing, or incommoding. Five demonstrators also were charged with resisting arrest.

These people are not just fighting for their own health coverage, they’re fighting for everyone who is on Medicaid, who has a pre-existing condition, who might need care including the essential health benefits Republicans want to make optional. Everyone who is on an Obamacare plan or has used any of the services Obamacare made insurance companies include in every plan. We owe them gratitude and our own action.

and plan to continue resisting every way I can while I can! I have called all 100 senators over 3× each and over 100 congressmen as well as writing letters, going to 9 protest marches, signing petitions, speaking to strangers, etc since Nov. I won't be able to do it for very long since I have received a very serious, expensive and painful health diagnosis last Sept. I will lose my ACA and 550 sq foot apt within 1 1/2 years due to the expensive surgeries I will need to reduce the pain until I eventually die. I am soooo grateful that the GOP care so much about representing me. I wish that only the idiots who voted for the Donald and GOP were effected by their monstrous greed and hate. That would be justice!

RESIST!
