If he has to pardon Jr and Jared for collusion with Russia to fix the election, it's and admission of guilt in that he just said that Russia ratfucked the election. Wouldn't that be enough to even get a large chunk of republican senators to vote for removal? I'd hope that there'd be a ton of public pressure to go along with impeachment and removal.

(9,968 posts)Look at how unpopular Obamacare repeal is becoming - but enough House Republicans still voted for it to pass the House version, and there's still a chance enough Republican Senators will too.
They have Russia to ensure their next elections.

they are all involved.

(67,786 posts)Lawrence Tribe, for very sound legal reasons, holds that a self pardon is unconstitutional.
Others can be pardoned. BUT . . . once pardoned, one cannot lean onthe 5th to avoid giving testimony. That means they must tell the truth or face perjury charges.

What removes Trump from office is his own violations, such as obstruction of justice, which I am sure can be shown many ways! He's still doing it this week.

Congress would then strike a deal where they would agree to impeach but Senate would not remove.
Best we can hope for, though not the only avenue, is state criminal prosecution no?
