If the Con is so popular how come Rachel Maddow and M$NBComcast are #1

Latest cable-news ratings show dramatic changes for Fox News, MSNBC
Fox News slips in the ratings as MSNBC's Rachel Maddow takes over with an assist from Lawrence O'Donnell

After several months of swapping the top spot in cable news ratings, MSNBC has found itself dominating Fox News in the ratings game.

For the last two weeks, MSNBC has been the clear and away leader in the ratings with MSNBC host Rachel Maddow being the host with the highest ratings most often. The change is fairly recent and is a departure from just several weeks ago

Going back to the week of July 10-July 14, Maddow led each of Fox News’ top three shows: “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” “Hannity,” and “The Five.” In many cases, MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell was right on the heels of Carlson and Hannity, sometimes even surpassing one or either of them.

In fact, the only time a Fox host even competed with Maddow was the night that Sean Hannity had Donald Trump Jr. on his show. On that night, Hannity barely surpassed Maddow in total viewers, but the margin was very slim.

And in the coveted 25-54 demographic? That belongs to Maddow and MSNBC — and it’s not even close.

Lawrence is also doing well.

Makes one wonder if MSNBC upper management deserves its success.

It seemed like we were a nation of fools, electing bush 2.0 twice, and then this monkey. But if people are coming out of their "I don't pay attention to politics" fog and asking to watch Rachel, that's a really good sign.

Her show is low budget, no blondes, cleaveage, not much video, and that's all government stuff. She requires thinking and following multi-faceted stories, including historic references and contexts. Her show is more political lecture than news. She discusses the headlines that were already released: She explains it all and why it matters.

If people are tolerating her long, confusing story lines, that's a really good sign for america: We want to learn.

I, for one, am tremendously relieved.

LUVin me some Rachel!!!

On a populist wave.

Dems need to understand this when chasing after trump voters.

it is now conventional wisdom that Trump was part of some great populist movement - if so then why didn't he win the popular vote and why wasn't his electoral college win greater than it was?

And know they won't get it from Fox "news".

I love seeing fox sinking with their Frankenstein monster!

They will leave Rachel & Lawrence alone. We still need to remain diligent to make sure they do.

I remember Rachel herself saying a few years ago on tv that her ratings weren't great but that no one on cable news has tons of viewers.

I'm glad she is number one especially with how many public places have fox news on 24/7. But, we also need more modern Kronkites and Murrows on the networks.
