(58,785 posts)How about huge NO! instead?
The plan is to turn the U.S. white majority again by kicking out the brown people + preventing white women from having abortions.
No kidding, the Nazis running the country think they can turn the U.S.A. white again.
So of course young brown people entering their childbearing years would be prime targets for deportation.
What a bunch of racist crackpots we have plotting and scheming.

(58,785 posts)If "no one" is or "they" are not, it means the person thinking that is not. The depth of our caring, or shallow lack of it, should not lead us to assume everyone else is like us.
All around America groups, notably including many from churches liberal and conservative, are actively opposing this. Some people have that advantage of already belonging to organized groups with progressive (i.e., taking action to solve problems) traditions. So they became active immediately and know it's wrong that "nobody" is doing anything.
My husband and I are just giving money right now to two important groups battling this, not hiding anyone in the basement or attending marches. Not nearly proportional to this tragedy, true, but it's not nothing either, and I recommend at least that to others isolated from the action so they also can know it's not true that "they" are doing nothing.

(58,785 posts)approve, or at least be comfortable, with this. And some would actively disapprove. We're having dinner with neighbors tonight, and I'll be dropping this into the conversation. To make sure they are aware.
They have to separate themselves from the dreadful ones. We can't make them, of course, but nd under this kind of leadership, the worst of the deporables are becoming very dreadful. There are some I no longer can speak to, like a pair of sisters who effusively admired the authoritarian takeover in Hungary, knowing the kinds of "solutions" that are too likely to follow, the worst of their character emboldened to take over and present itself for all to see.

(6,383 posts)The higher the numbers in deportation, arrests, etc. the more more they can claim to Congress they need larger budgets, higher wages, more personal, etc.
It's why their union fights tooth and nail against obviously efficient systems of camera's, drones, etc. along the border and guest worker legislation. But build a stupid wall they know won't have any effect but will obviously come under their jurisdiction of maintenance...they are all for it because it means they get more funding.
