16. Unique, yes. But "very" / "most." I am an English prof and this is something I work on with

the students - though of course grammar should be taught to students before university but things have gotten much worse over the years. We are supposed to be discussing, for example, Shakespeare's plays in terms of formal literary and linguistic aspects and historical and modern significance and performance history but we often find ourselves teaching upper-level students how to use semicolons properly -- and of course how to use commas, how to write grammatically sound sentences (not fragments! argh!), and understand how to construct an argument (which is different than an assertation) - and so on.

One can say "Christie Brinkley is a very beautiful woman" without meaning that "Christie Brinkley is the MOST beautiful woman." It does not imply the superlative or singularity ("this is steep" -"this is very steep" - "this is the most steep (of all)/the steepest&quot . We no longer use the archaic term "verimost" which would indicate the superlative.

And yes, using "very unique" is obviously sloppy.
