It is unbelievable that anyone running for President or in a high position of government...

...has never read the Constitution or does not understand the separation of powers, the powers of the President, etc.

Ignorance of such magnitude should be an automatic disqualifier.

If they do not understand that we have one President at a time and that they should never negotiate with any foreign entities until they are sworn into office, under the parameters of long-standing diplomacy, then they are not qualified for the office.

If they do not understand the history of the US and Russia in geo-politics, then they are not qualified to conduct foreign policy. They should be removed immediately. They are a threat to our national security.

It is not enough to plead ignorance.

I'm starting to believe everyone running for elected office at any level should have to take - and pass - a test on the Constitution similar to what any high school Civics class would take. Seriously.

had an understanding of the constitution as well. That is the real problem. Too many republicans pay lip service to the constitution and democracy, but they are just words to them.

A well educated populace would never elect a carnival barker president. We've been headed towards this for a long time.

Any candidate must have held some elected government position for at least two years.

thinking they can run government like a business. I live in Illinois, where we have one of those as governor. Already, I'm seeing ads from a Democrat running against him in 2018, JD Pritzker, who is...another billionaire CEO.

I have been yelling about this for months.

This bullshit about them doing all this "negotiating" and behind-the-scenes policy-making while Barack Obama was still in office, is just breathtaking. And the fact that the media hasn't made a huge deal out of it is even more tragic.

There are certain activities that people do as part of the "transition" but they are NOT yet officially "active" in a new administration UNTIL just after the inauguration.

But see - since Pence took over the transition after the elections, he is knee deep in the illegalities of what they were doing before the inauguration.

doesn't seem like an excessive ask

maybe have them play and record 24h of Sim City too

not that it needs to be mandatory, if one major party candidate started doing it i think the rest would follow (if they could)
