Nobody is being forced to watch Fox News via the Ludovico Technique.

The people who cheer people being removed from healthcare because they're "weak" and because there are tax cuts to billionaires that they themselves won't get (But they totally might some day, totally), the people who prefer unemployment and alienation if it means not having to be "bossed around" by some liberal or minority (Case in point, the places that voted for Trump and are falling apart due to opiate abuse)... they aren't misguided, they don't have economic anxieties, you know what, they are our enemies... as much as any alt/far righter, as much as any Putinist, etc.

If we're not out to defund their organizations and remove their symbols, then we aren't really fighting back.

3. While that's true...

They are engaging in a covert propaganda effort to influence opinion. That doesn't eliminate the responsibility of the Deplorables, but it certainly exacerbates the problem, and constitutes subversive efforts by a foreign power. It's pretty close to an act of war.
