1. He has worked all his life to get to this postion of power where he can formulate and implement

backward policies. He will not voluntarily give that up IMHO.

Sessions is in this to kill voting laws, LGBT laws, abortion rights. And in order to do that, he needs to be in this position. Trump will have to fire him outright, and even then, who knows. Trumps agenda is feeling up the Russians and making money; Sessions is all the REAL Rethug stuff.

Although trump wants him out he also wants sessions to orally blow him on way out.

I really think that he is as self-serving as Trump and is pissed off enough to give him the finger by making Trump fire him.

7. He gave up his Senate seat for his dream joob, so giving up that job without

his Senate seat to return to will be very painful. Naturally he is hoping that Trump's ire will abate somewhat as his short attention span drives him to forget Sessions and go after someone else, at least for a while.
