He was accomplishing a lot and learning lots of useful things. But when the local council on NY's Long Island decided to honor Bill O'Reilly, my then 14-year old son said, "O'Reilly disses everything we're supposed to be learning in Scouts. Screw that. I'm done."

He's a great young man.

unless the leaders state their opposition to Trump politicizing the event.
It only takes a moment like this for decline to begin and the rot to sink in if not re-addressed.

There was nothing more disturbing than seeing a senior Scout Master on stage chortle away as trump said such derogatory things about other citizens.

I can imagine other scouting organizations around the world may even distance themselves from the @boyscouts / BSA.
How can they ever hope to host an International Jamboree again in the US?

Trump is a walking talking disaster and everything he touches begins to rot. The Republican Party is a prime example and it's only take a year.
