For the record losing your personal Dr. because of a healthcare bill is not

a valid argument against a healthcare bill. No one should rely on having the same doctor all of their lives. Doctors are not automatic machines of medical expertise they are human beings like everybody else. They could take another job on the other side of the country for more money or to be closer to their family. They could retire. They even can get sick and die like everybody else. Even if you have an insurance plan you like and they are taking it there is no guarantee they will continue to take it there could be logistical reasons for them to stop taking.

Which often meant having to change doctors or seeing your preferred provider as an out of network option.

I just lost my doctor of 20 years, Doc got tired of the snow, in-law died in Florida, leaving house.

That doctor before that for 20 years, got disabled, lasted 10 years, lost job, yeah, damn Obama care.

my Dr. after I could no longer afford my old policy and changed my HC provider. He was our family physician, took care of my Father in his final days and is my Mother's primary today. I didnt cry like a RW snowflake about it.

4. My Medicare Supplement Plan Is Humana.....

This has nothing to do with ACA (Obamacare).

Humana and the hospital group my doctor is with (which actually employs the doctor clinics of which my doc is part of) did not come to an agreement this year for coverage.

The result is I went in for some care from my Doc and after I was seen by the Doc - I was told of this and my visit wasn't covered by Humana.

This again was strictly a negotiation between Humana and the Hospital Group. If had nothing to do with ACA/Obamacare. Going forward if Humana and this Hospital Group don't come to an agreement in the future (I'm told they are in negotiations) next time I need a Doc - I can go to this Doc - but my visit wouldn't be covered - it would be out of pocket for me. The other alternative is that I find another Doc and Hospital Group that has a contract with Humana and I go to them.

I'm told that this sort of thing happens all the time. Insurance companies and providers don't always come to an agreement.

Yes - it could happen with ACA/Obamacare as well - but it is not just a weakness of ACA/Obamacare.

I couldn't stand his immediate replacement, and said so. She 'fired' me from the practice. Then, of course, she moved on and was replaced by a great doctor who treats my husband. I went elsewhere. These things happen.

Then the employer changed plans and my doctor's office didn't accept the new plan.

A few years later, we got on Obamacare - and got our doctor back.

How come rethugs are whining about ME losing my doctor because of employer supplied insurance?

...with conservatives is telling them how I was in socialized medicine for the first 23 years of my life. We went to the doctor when needed, never paid a penny, never knew which doctor we would see, my mother never knew which doctor would deliver her babies. Never paid anything for prescriptions or surgeries. My goodness, they say. Where did you grow up? Right here in America. My dad was in the Air Force and my first husband in the Navy. And I smile...

my doctor is leaving the network and I was assigned a new one. My only real requirement is I prefer a woman (check). Will see on my first appointment if I am comfortable with her.

For the past 14 years, my wife and I have been full-time traveling RVers (9 yrs) and stick house dwellers (5 yrs). Each of us have had about 10 primary doctors. Each of those made valuable changes in our healthcare management. Accept change. It is your friend.

If you have a doctor you really like then you don't have to risk losing him/her if you change jobs.

Two were arrested for prescribing too many narcotics (not to me, I liked both of them - one had charges dropped but damage was done)

Two had babies and decided to stay home with them.

None from ACA. Hmmmm.
