But for our Scouting family at home not able to see these real moments of Scouting, we know the past few days have been overshadowed by the remarks offered by the President of the United States.

I want to extend my sincere apologies to those in our Scouting family who were offended by the political rhetoric that was inserted into the jamboree. That was never our intent. The invitation for the sitting U.S. President to visit the National Jamboree is a long-standing tradition that has been extended to the leader of our nation that has had a Jamboree during his term since 1937. It is in no way an endorsement of any person, party or policies. For years, people have called upon us to take a position on political issues, and we have steadfastly remained non-partisan and refused to comment on political matters. We sincerely regret that politics were inserted into the Scouting program.

While we live in a challenging time in a country divided along political lines, the focus of Scouting remains the same today as every day.

Some Boy Scouts and their Leaders BOOed the Former President of the United States, whom I might add, was a Scout.

Some Boy Scouts and their Leaders BOOed the person that ran against tRump* in the national election, and, I might add, received 3,000,000 more votes.

While I do have issue with tRump* inserting politics into the Scouting event, that should have been expected. At every turn, tRump* has proved himself to be classless, uncouth lowlife.

What I MOST CERTAINLY HAVE ISSUE WITH is the relative ease the assembled Scouts were able to be used as nothing more than cheap political props. I would have expected more from the creme de la creme of young American manhood.

10. President or not, someone so lacking in common decency

and whose behavior throughout his life has been the polar opposite of the scouting ideal should never have been invited. They could have predicted he could not be trusted to give a normal, uplifting but non-partisan speech. They knew he was a snake when they picked him up, and he indulged in a vulgar, narcissistic, and utterly inappropriate rant because that is the type of person he is.

Maybe there's no sufficient apology available, when a U.S. president takes a huge public shit on an organization like the Boy Scouts. Fair warning to any groups who want to risk a trump speech to their membership in the future.
