Idiot Texans would, of course, replace him with another repuke, but hardly anyone I can think of would be as loathsome as Cruz.

Cruz himself said he was not interested. who would be crazy enough to give up a safe senate seat to go work for Trump given how he is treating session ? Also, it would put it seat in play and the GOP does not want to lose any senators, they already can't get to 50.

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) to primary Cruz in 2018 - this was just before last year's election

Don't know where it stands now - maybe Perry forgot all about it (sorry couldn't resist)

And as retribution by putting him right into the hornet's nest. Trump loves to make Cruz kiss the ring, then slap him in the face.

But given that Cruz is one of the most hated people by his colleagues in the senate, that will make the cajancws of a successful replacement to sessions even lower

I'd score it highly unlikely - but stranger things have happened (are happening)

would be scheduling a confirmation hearing has said there is no room in the schedule for any such thing.

Meaning, Republican Senators, despite their eagerness to deprive millions of health care, really haven't much more patience with all of the other shenanigans this administration is up to.

Loyalty makes him is a good bet to be considered for the next (obedient) Attorney General.

He has been pretty quite since this Russian Collusion story got legs. My guess is that he is already caught up in it, and is smart enough to turn down the AG position if offered.

Carnival Cruz is up in 2018 and Carnival Cruz has pissed off a ton of people. Beto O'Rouke could take Carnival Cruz if 2018 is a wave year
