(406 posts)Seriously?
Has he not been interviewed about the allegations he said he wasn't even aware of? Has he not at least been asked for comment by any reporter or news organization on any of these topics?

(1,474 posts)Seeing such an intelligent and strong woman not taking bullshit from a man makes me so happy.
Maxine Waters is a great role model for all of us. Hard for me to express how much I respect and admire her.

(26,731 posts)He would probably have come off far worse if she had just let him speak... because it sounds like he was going to say that she's not entitled to a response... which is probably true, but would have looked far worse if she had let him say it than keep interrupting.
I wonder when they'll have a transcript of the rest of the hearing?

I think that is why she did what she did.

From the transcript I've seen... she didn't get an answer anyway.
The real answer is probably "four members of the minority side of a House committee can't compel a cabinet secretary to do work for them - the committee has to do that". While true, he would have looked bad saying it.

(3,847 posts)That has been my reaction since the 1st time I saw him. Thank God for Auntie Maxine. These asses that want to eat up hours worth of time telling the questioner how wonderful they are they are incapable of answering a damn question. Finally someone slapped them in the snout.

Frankly, I'm astonished that the chair actually said that minority members got to claim back their time. There must have been some verbal fist fights about that before the Q & A.
