On Long Island, Trump to highlight violence from MS-13 gang to push Congress on immigration

By David Nakamura July 28 at 8:27 AM

President Trump will travel Friday to Suffolk County on Long Island to highlight a rise in violent crimes by the transnational gang MS-13, as the White House launches a renewed push to Congress to beef up funding for border security measures.

Trump's visit to a county racked by violence attributed to the gang — 17 murders over 18 months, according to local police — aims to give his message that lawmakers must do more to combat illegal immigration a “power and poignancy,” a White House aide told reporters in a briefing.

In a speech at Suffolk County Community College, Trump will deliver a “very forceful message about just how menacing this threat is,” said the aide, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to preview the president's remarks. Trump will highlight “the systemic consequences of our failure to enforce immigration laws over many years.”

Trump will try to rally Congress “to fully support what we in this administration think we need to do to end this threat once and for all,” the aide said.

About 5 miles from where the Orange Menace is speaking, and about 10 miles from where MS-13 is most active. Truthfully, if he was sincere in his intention to do something about the gang problem, it would be welcome, regardless of part affiliation. But since it's clearly just a Trojan Horse to punish anyone- documented or not- who happens to be from Central or South America, he can turn around and go back to DC.

PS-And DON'T FUCK UP OUR TRAFFIC!!! Fridays are bad enough around here, traffic-wise, without his bullshit.

but will prefer to avoid the traffic.

MS13 is as bad as it gets, but State, Suffolk County, and local cops have already made a huge dent in it without much help from any Feds.

Last year they left machete-carved corpses on the beach, and hacked up a few young girls in a park. You can imagine the outrage all over Long Island, and the cops responded big time. Over 30 of the gangsters were rounded up and the rounding up continues.

Trump's gonna talk it up, while bragging about gawd-knows-what-else, but he's late to the party.

MS-13 isn't that big on the radar any more. It still exists, but it's closely watched.

And we like our Hispanics. Most aren't in gangs but work their asses off, pay their bills and are good people. I've done a lot of work with seasonal farm workers, without whom the economy out here would collapse, language programs, and other things to help us all get along. And we do get along. Most of the time.

I live in Pa., not LA, where they are a problem. Will Trump's immigration policy stop them too? Sure it will.
