(9,895 posts)They need to be free to speak up and defend doing what's right....and to speak out against the misguided POTUS or just another misguided officer who feels that the thin blue line must be held at all costs.

(15,805 posts)couldn't think straight? Whatever the reason they applauded a criminal act, I fault the politicians at all levels, the police officials and the union leaders who allowed those cops to be humiliated and exploited as Trump's stage props. They put those cops in a terrible situation and the blowback is not only hitting them, but the police in general. Now they have the press reflecting public fears and questions that no one will be safe if the whole police force, as represented by officers engaged in clapping and cheering for police brutality on camera. The public is right to worry that anyone could be subjected thuggery because Trump, the lawless president, endorsed roughing up anyone in police custody regardless of their guilt or innocence.
