Ha ha: Anti-Trump group blasts Mitch McConnell on 'YOU MAKE US SICK' billboards in his hometown.

?1501430032

Indivisible Kentucky co-founder Dawn Cooley said her group has been urging the Senator to host a public town hall event since January, and the billboards are the tipping point.

"The 'You make us sick' billboard is in reference to how we feel about the direction of his 'leadership' both in general and today specifically. We strongly disagree with his stance on affordable, quality health care, which we believe is a human right," Cooley said in an email.

McConnell's plan for a clean repeal of the Affordable Care Act was shut down Wednesday evening, as seven Republican senators brought the vote up short 45-55. In a last ditch effort, McConnell and other Senate leaders were expected to organize a vote Thursday of dozens of amendments in what they call a "skinny repeal" of the Affordable Care Act.

"We are astonished that he would open debate on a bill that most of the senate hasn’t even seen – this is not due process but a blatant abuse of power," Cooley said in an email.

I think billboards are a cheap and effective form of advertising--- especially in rural areas (they should be cheaper there) and they can reach cord cutting millennials.

If I were the state Democratic parties, I'd be putting billboards up near closing factories.

Go to Republican strongholds and have some political rallies. Bring in a nationally-known Democrat along with local talent, and have a rally telling people in those areas what the Republicans are doing, and what Democrats will do differently. Talk to the local radio and newspaper people and give them some content without the Fox filter. Encourage local Democrats who often feel outnumbered and ignored by the national party. And make sure everyone is registered to vote.

Most of the replies were against it but I thought it was a good idea. In fact Indivisible and a few other groups are taking donations so they can continuing resisting (everyone is a volunteer and are paying for a lot out-of-pocket).

It's all true. He's betrayed Kentuckians for decades, getting reelected by using big-business donations, very much including from Chinese business, to bury his opponents in filthy, negative ads.

TAKE AWAY Health care from Americans with no real replacement. The have no moral sense of principle for the suffering of their constituents.

Billboards such as these should tie these Republicans to wanting to kill off their constituents. That will get the message across and get voters to think .

It looks like it was produced by turtle's campaign organization and the Journal uses it in their story. It's nothing but pro-turtle. I looked for a tag "advertisement" but I couldn't find one. WTF kind of bullshit is that?

Kentucky sure likes to re elect its senators. It last elected a Democrat to the Senate in 1992 (Wendell Ford). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_Senators_from_Kentucky
