"Last Week Tonight" host John Oliveron Sunday took aim at InfoWars founder Alex Jones, slamming the conspiracy theorist for the products he sells to fund his show.
Oliver pointed out Jones spends nearly a quarter of his show peddling products to his listeners like Combat One moist towelettes and Wake Up America Patriot Blend coffee. Other products that Oliver highlighted included one that had trace amounts of comet and a Bill Clinton rape whistle that came with a free 9-11 Was an Inside Job bumper sticker.
Oliver said that about two-thirds of his funding for Jones show comes from selling the products and that Jones often tells listeners that he can barely keep the show going unless they buy the products on his site. Jones told NBCs Megan Kelly during an interview last month that it costs $45 to 50 million to run InfoWars.

On a serious note, I get annoyed at some of the advertising on some of the shows on the progressive side, although most products are like Blue Apron, or those snacks that come pre packaged or Super Beets, which I tried but did nothing for me. I do find it odd that people like Thom Hartmann and Stephanie Miller also feature GOLD, buy your GOLD before the next disaster, which mimics what most right wing shows hawk. The HUGE HUGE difference is that the business model of most right wing shows is to stir up fear in order to sell their generators, survival food, fish pond grow kits, GOLD, etc...
I understand that broadcasting is a business and you have to make a living, but you make revenue by getting people to tune in, by providing a good show, then attracting advertisers who buy advertising space. His claim that he has outlays of $50 million for just his show, is easily provable or debunked, just release your financials Alex.
