the way they can so causally play with people's lives.
I am tired that for the second time in less than 20 years of Republican presidencies and a rubber stamp Republican Congress, I have to fear that our democracy and the rule of law no longer have any meaning.
I am disgusted by the fact that Republicans were willing to take away the health care of millions for no other reason than to score a cheap, hallow political victory.
I am sick of their willingness to shut their eyes to a foreign enemy interferring in our election and the zeal they show in disenfranchising millions of voters to maintain power.
I live in constant fear of the future because no one one effectively stands up to them and says enough!
FUCK all Republicans and their foolish believers!

(10,843 posts)They can have a little sympathy for certain groups.
But, they have no empathy. Especially for those not in their tribe.

(28,689 posts)they are authoritarian sociopaths - not only do they have no empathy, they have no sense of right and wrong. they don't care if something is wrong, terribly wrong, if it advances their playbook. they are craven and proving it every day trump stays in office.

(45,163 posts)bragging online about how they don't care how many Russians worked with the Trumps, we are all low testosterone triggered cucks who deserve to lose our health coverage and access to other "free stuff" like education and job training programs. They are gloating about how Trump is going to repeal regulations and bring back jobs and give them tax cuts. As if low income Trumpers would benefit from tax cuts or if the loss in coal jobs has anything to do with regulations.
Whenever I ask which regulation killed jobs, they always reply "Obamacare" with the confidence of someone who doesn't know that no one can bring back their old jobs. It's time to train up for a new job in the ever evolving economy.
Several GOP congressmen have been on talk shows claiming that the Dems were just not smart enough to put in strong cybersecurity to prevent hacking and get the correct voter ids and documents so our people could vote. They did it on purpose. They know young people and minorities move more often for jobs and are less likely to have all the right paperwork sorted out for their unreasonable voting restrictions and get scrubbed from the voter rolls.

(24,031 posts)all seem to think they got that way because thy worked so hard. For some that is true, but they overlook the privilege and sometimes just pain luck they may have had. If hard work made you rich, the agricultural workers would live in mansions.

(16,245 posts)The worst are Republicans but there are plenty among so-called liberals (who may in fact not be correctly categorized as liberals) who would vote against desegregating their schools, or complain about multifamily housing in their communities as "bringing down property values". Etc, etc. I have read many derogatory comments here about the homeless, for instance. None of us are perfectly empathetic.

(42,481 posts)It wasn't hallow, it wasn't hollow, because it didn't pass (yet).
It was not cheap! They, the Republicans, were going to make off with the spoils.
It would have been a victory, but only for them.

(11,230 posts)Look, if they were just honest with their goals, I would be able to respect them. I obviously wouldn't agree with them, and I would expect the vast majority of the public to reject them as well.
Right now, however, it's just a steady stream of lies. That's what bothers me the most.

(11,351 posts)forgetting how many trust fund baby republicans there are!
Talking to my daughter who works with mostly republicans its all about pulling yourself up by the bootstraps and getting nothing for free. Not that they don't care for others but believe everyone should work for what you get.
When you mention that some are sick or poor through no fault of their own they still say go get a job. I say what job? They make it sound like anyone can get a job if you just try hard enough. But some are too sick to work, have no transportation or daycare. Makes no difference to them.
They force people to have kids then sit by and say how lazy they are when they can't work because of no daycare for those kids.
On top of abortion they make birth control hard to get by closing all the clinics and allowing health care to cost so much.
They think lower taxes will give you more pocket money but that only helps those with good paying jobs. A few more dollars with no healthcare or other supports does nothing for the common low paid worker.
demigoddess
(6,637 posts)works. but when you think about it they don't understand how most of the world works. They actually encourage businesses not to offer health care to their workers and then find it odd that people cannot afford to pay for it on their own. They also want to lower the very low minimum pay level and then can't understand why people can't afford daycare, health care, and private schools for their children.
The stupid it is huge.

(21,714 posts)I finally asked him to name one good thing Republicans have done for average Americans cans in the last 50 years. His answer was the War in Iraq.
That is what we are dealing with.

(8,536 posts)Because they are republicans.
Republicans are inherently selfish, narcissistic, bigoted, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, fascist, religious zealots.
There is no redeeming qualities of a republican. Saying they are hatful and dishonest is the most positive thing you can say about them as it only gets worse from there.
I dream of day we can vote them all from office and purge their ideology from our society.
Sadly I doubt I'll ever see it but i doubt we will live through this presidency as this fucking idiot will like tweet us into a war to avoid being impeached.

(14,144 posts)Even though the Republicans have had so many more members charged with crimes, some monetary some sexually perverted, yet their fans still cling to the tag of the party of "family values". Or that they are the religious, pious ones. Coulter's book titles come to mind. "Godless" ?
Or that they are great managers of money and business. They frame it as "who would you trust more, a business man that is conditioned to always be working for the bottom line (them), or a pinko hippie that just wants to mooch off everyone elses money (us)" And no matter how history shows that it is Republican administrations that drag the country down into debt and depression and Democratic admins that always have to clean up their messes and get the country moving again, they STILL cling to this lie.
Just how fucking childish they are! They are always whining about persecution, even though they have all the advantages. They have almost every daytime talk radio show across the country spewing their lies. They have 'the most watched news network'. They have the majority of large donors, and dark money coming in to them. They have electoral advantages with gerrymandering. And just like children, if they lose on an issue, it is whaaaaaaa but but but Democrats do it tooooooo! And one of most maddening thing is that the MSM have been facilitating that behaviour by fostering a 'he said she said' false equivalency in order to keep viewers, and sponsors, and right wing guests coming back.
