He had retweeted a piece from the Hill that had a misleading headline, implying that she didn't think it matters if the Democrats win in 2018.
Thank you, Laurence Tribe!

Misled by the headline, I hope @NancyPelosi will accept my apology: all she actually called "unimportant" was whether she'd run for speaker.

(11,230 posts)Common sense should have told everyone that there was more to the story as there's no logical reason why she would have suggested that winning in 2018 wasn't a priority, if not THE priority.
I figured that out without reading beyond the headline, and Laurence Tribe is smarter than I am.

(11,119 posts)I saw this story making the rounds on all the boards - posters are saying it's time to do away with Pelosi, she's not a fighter, blah, blah, blah!
Posting links to stories with deliberately misleading headlines is the modus operandi of the propaganda outlets. They're banking on people taking in the headlines and not reading the entire story....

(6,854 posts)because some people don't actually bother to read the story. At least Lawrence Tribe did apologize but many who used that twisting of Nancy's words to attack her won't.

(9,350 posts)It is always best to read an entire story before commenting on the story. The headline can make you think one thing is being said in the article only to find out once reading the article that something totally different is being said. I often find that when I read an article my comment about the article is different than it would have been if I had just comment on the headline. Reading only the headline causes a great deal of problems for many people.
