Why are MAGA and TOCB never questioned?

Make America Great Again
Take Our Country Back.

Whenever I hear some right winger throw these out there, they are never questioned.
I'm still waiting for just one reporter to ask:

What do you mean by Make America Great Again?
Why is it not great now?
Do you believe that it was great at one time but stopped being so?
When and how did that happen?
How do you define great?

What do you mean by Take Our Country Back?
Take it back from whom?
Give it to whom?
Should a Democratic Republic be owned by any one particular group?
If your group did take it back, what would it then look like?

I'm still waiting.
I THINK I know what they really mean by this.
I think they want to take us back to a time like the Father Knows Best 1950's..
An extremely patriarchal conservative Christian corporate loving top down strict law and order based society that does not question authority and rules with a firm hand.

But, I can only think that because of my own biases and experiences.
I want to HEAR AND SEE these people say it out loud.
If they can't explain what MAGA or TOCB means to them, why do they use these terms and why has our mainstream media allowed them to do so without any questioning?

The media has really let us down by "normalizing" this ridiculous behavior and not asking the obvious questions.

who would support someone who says this country is not great??? Sure there are problems but it is (or was until he got in office) a great country. I could not understand why people stood behind a candidate whose very slogan INSULTED THE COUNTRY.

But I am not a member of the media or a public person so I had no impact.

So I couldn't understand why people weren't more outraged. But then everything he's done should have sparked outrage. And the media should have made the connection for those who were too dim to realize it.

They want to go back to segregation of whites and blacks. They see separation as the only way to regain their superiority. They cry that they are now being discriminated against but too stupid to understand whites have never been a minority and therefore are the ones doing all the discriminating.

When southerners talk about the “real America” and “real Americans,” they are talking about the confederacy that lost the war. The war they fought to keep a race of people chained up in sheds to do all their plantation work while they fucked their women. They feel all blacks are nothing but n*****s who are genetically inferior to whites. God made them black to mark them as inferior.

They are all about white supremacy, white nationalism, KKK, European Kindred, and of course Nazis. They want Jim Crow laws back so blacks by law must have separate; housing, bathrooms, drinking fountains, shopping malls, everything.

They just don’t have the balls to say it…

Spot on. MAGA and Take our Country back are absolutely race based phrases and 90% of Republicans know it. It's time the rest of the country starts calling them out for what they mean.

I want to hear someone ask Trump to explain exactly what he means by "fake news"--what are some news stories about him that are not true?

I want someone to ask why they keep referring to ACA as a disaster when so many Americans are benefiting from having health insurance for the first time in their lives.

to stave off the planned "Treasury Giveaway to the 1%"? I'm already seeing different commercials touting "Tax Reform for the Small-Business Owners," complete with a phone number to call Congress.

Do the Democrats have a response ready to challenge the Republican misleading framing?

including der Drumpenfurher, are only first or second generation off-the-boaters.

There was a huge influx of Europeans who came here post WWI, where none of them were here for the Civil War or earlier. They were allowed to fantasize that they were that small group of Europeans who were here earlier, and thus identify with them is as kindred "white (European-descended)" vs when their ancestors actually arrived here on Ellis Island. Many of the rest were isolated in homogeneous communities that generationally reinforced certain distorted societal beliefs.

when anyone else criticizes the US in any way. Remember the "apology tour", so-called simply because Obama wasn't being a total macho asshole?

Yet, Trump continually trashes the US, but they think they're the ones who love America. Seems pretty clear they only love the parts where it ought to be spelled Amerikka.
